Bob Arum advises Manny Pacquiao to hang up the gloves in an exclusive interview with Fanatics View.

Bob Arum agreed that Manny Pacquiao still looks good in the ring at age 40. But the Top Rank Founder and “PacMan’s” former promoter is more concerned with his age, as opposed to his skill set.

In the long term, Arum fears the health issues that Pacquiao may encounter as he continues to age.

“When you’re 40 years old, and you take a lot of punches; it’s gonna affect you when you’re 50,” Arum told Fanatics View. “And we don’t want Manny Pacquiao to talk slurred, and for him to suffer any kind of brain damage; even if it’s minor brain damage. And believe me, if he continues fighting at this age, that will happen.”

In a stellar victory over Keith Thurman, Pacquiao showed that his hand speed and punch combinations still make him a threat for his opponents. Other intriguing fights for the eight-division champion at 147 would be against IBF champion Errol Spence, or WBO champion Terence Crawford.

Rather than continue testing himself against the best at welterweight, Arum advises Pacquiao to call it a career.

“I can’t tell Manny what to do, because Manny listens to himself,” said Arum. “But if I were advising Manny and telling him what to do, I would tell him to hang up the gloves. He’s had a good victory, that’s the way to hang it up.”
